Delete your account
This page explains how to delete your Virtual Change Room account and the personal data that goes with it, what happens after you ask, and the few records we keep. You do not need the app installed to do it.
Delete it yourself
You can request deletion from the Virtual Change Room app or from any web browser:
- Sign in to Virtual Change Room.
- Open the menu under your profile picture at the top of the screen and choose Privacy. (You can also choose Delete account on your Profile page.)
- Open the Your data tab.
- Choose Request account deletion, then Confirm deletion.
Sign in and go straight to Your data.
You can ask for deletion even if we are asking you to accept updated terms or to finish setting up your account first; the Privacy page stays open to you.
Or ask us by email
If you cannot sign in, email support@virtualchangeroom.app from the email address registered to your account and ask us to delete it. We may ask you to confirm the request from that address before we act on it, so that nobody else can delete your account.
Cancel any subscription first
Your account stays open during the 30-day cooling-off period described below, and a subscription can renew during that time, so cancel it before you ask for deletion.
Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription bought through Google Play. Google bills that subscription, not us, so cancel it in the Google Play app (Profile, then Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions) before you delete your account. The same applies to a subscription bought through the Apple App Store.
What happens after you ask
- A 30-day cooling-off period. Nothing is deleted straight away, so a request made in a bad moment can be withdrawn. You can cancel it from the same Your data tab at any time during those 30 days.
- Then the deletion runs automatically. Once the 30 days have passed, the account is erased by our scheduled deletion process, which runs every night. Nobody has to approve it. Once it has run it cannot be reversed.
- The one exception is a legal hold. If we are legally required to preserve an account (for example, under a law-enforcement or court request), the deletion waits until that requirement ends.
What is deleted
- Your account profile: your name and email address are replaced with anonymous values, and your date of birth, gender, phone number, profile photo and password are removed.
- Your sign-in methods (including Google or Apple sign-in), your two-factor settings and your sign-in sessions.
- The photos you uploaded, and the try-ons, images and videos generated for you, together with their stored files, which are erased from our storage when the deletion runs. (Copies sent to our AI provider to make a generation are handled under that provider's own retention policy, described in our Privacy Policy.)
- The technical records of your generations (when each ran, whether it worked, what it cost).
- Any share links and polls you created, which stop working.
What we keep, and for how long
A few records survive the deletion, because removing them would cause harm or break the law. None of them contains your photos, and each is tied to an anonymous account rather than to your name or email address.
- Billing and tax records (invoices, receipts, payment records and your credit history) - kept for as long as tax and financial-records law requires us to keep them.
- Our security and audit trail - the record of what was done on the account, including the IP addresses and device descriptions recorded with it. Kept for 2 years from each entry, to investigate fraud and account takeover and to defend our decisions.
- Your unsubscribe and opt-out records - the email address or phone number that asked not to be contacted, kept indefinitely so that we keep honouring it.
- Image fingerprints of pictures taken down after a report - a short numeric code, not an image, kept for as long as the block needs to stop the same picture being uploaded again.
- Content held for a safety or legal reason - a generation our staff flagged for breaking our rules, or content covered by a legal hold, kept for as long as that reason lasts.
Just want some of your data gone?
You do not have to close your account to delete things. You can delete any try-on, video or photo yourself at any time, and it is gone from your account straight away. You can also download a copy of your data from the same Your data tab. Our Privacy Policy has the full details.
